Makaton Sign Language

Makaton is a visual communication system that our teacher uses in the classroom to help our students. Makaton sign language can benefit your Neurodivergent child by providing them with an alternate means of communication, promoting comprehension, and facilitating social interactions.

PECS (Picture Exchange System )

PECS is a communication system that we use in class for our schedules. It is pictures or symbols to support individuals with autism as well as those who are non-verbal or limited verbal communication skills. The PECS System helps children develop functional communication by providing a structured and visual means of communication, promoting independence, and reducing frustration in the child.

We believe that a child's biggest obstacle can often also be their greatest superpower. Children who are easily distracted are generally also incredibly alert and observant to their environment, and children who have trouble facing change or deviating from their routine are often incredibly analytical.

Neurodivergent Academy takes an adaptive approach to help your higher needs child unlock their superpower and make learning new skills both accessible and something to look forward to. Thus equipping your child with the tools they need to perform daily tasks.
It does indeed take a village to raise a child.
